Lions midseason grades: Poor marks for pathetic play

Faced with questions about his future after the Lions fell to 1-7, coach Jim Caldwell said he expects to be able to continue doing his job.

But during such a disappointing start, has Caldwell done his job?

"Anytime you're not winning, you're not," he said. "It's plain and simple."

And that truth extends to everyone.

Except for a few players, the Lions have failed on every level as they've compiled the worst record in the NFL through eight weeks.

With most bad teams, there are things they do well. But there's not much when it comes to the Lions.
