MOBILE, Ala. - The Detroit Lions "could be" hiring Miami Dolphins executive vice president of football administration Dawn Aponte to help run their salary cap, according to CBS Sports.
Aponte just finished her sixth season with the Dolphins, where she served as the team's chief contract negotiator and one of owner Stephen Ross' most trusted advisers.
New Lions general manager Bob Quinn has control of the team's cap and other football matters, but he was in the market for an experienced negotiator to add to the front office.
The Lions did not have any immediate comment on the report, and Aponte did not return a phone call seeking comment.
