Matthew Stafford was firmly in the discussion for the NFL's Most Valuable Player award last season before a finger injury helped derailed his campaign, as well as the Detroit Lions season.
Coming into this season, his odds of getting right back into it aren't terrific, per Bovada.
The sports betting agency released its MVP odds Friday. Stafford's line is set at +5000, tying him with nine other players for the 14th-best odds.
Of note, Stafford was tied with quarterback Sam Bradford, who has had one good but not great year with the Minnesota Vikings; and Adrian Peterson, who is 32 years old, coming off a meniscus injury and now plays in a crowded backfield with the New Orleans Saints.
