Lions' Jim Caldwell mum, mostly, on election results

ALLEN PARK — A lot has happened since the Detroit Lions last convened.

Like, you know, billionaire mogul Donald Trump becoming president.

Several coaches have offered their takes on the election, including a scathing rebuke from Pistons coach Stan Van Gundy. But Lions coach Jim Caldwell preferred to walk a much more careful line.

"I think I've tried to always use this platform for what it's meant for, and that's obviously to talk about our team and those kinds of things," Caldwell said. "The other things are for a private setting of some sort. But I think the big thing that's important — to me, what's important — is leadership is important.
