The Detroit Lions have apparently tried extending an olive branch to Calvin Johnson.
Team president Rod Wood revealed Monday a text exchange he had with the retired Lions receiver recently, highlighted by an invite to training camp.
"We'll see if he does that," Wood told WJR 760-AM's Frank Beckmann.
"Hopefully he shows up. He's a great player; we want to him kind of inside the tent, not outside the tent. Hopefully that's the way it ends up."

Calvin Johnson returned to the NFL this week, though not as player, nor even with the Detroit Lions.
