It was a rough first half for Detroit Lions veteran quarterback Nate Sudfeld. But the offense had a notable extra dimension when second-year passer Hendon Hooker took over in the second half.
The Lions utilized Hooker’s mobility early and often, and the former Tennessee Volunteer got into a nice rhythm. But no play was more impressive than his scramble near the end of the third quarter. On a play-action boot, Hooker was forced to escape some initial pressure, but easily beat the edge defender around the corner.
Now facing the second level of defense, Hooker didn’t slow down.
