The Detroit Lions return nine starters on the league’s second-ranked defense from a season ago, but that unit has still looked different this offseason without Ndamukong Suh, Nick Fairley and George Johnson upfront.
That’s a lot of production that walked out the door via free agency, especially when it comes to Suh (8.5 sacks in 2014) and Johnson (six).
Nonetheless, veteran defensive end Darryl Tapp says different isn’t necessarily a bad thing when it comes to Detroit’s revamped defensive line.
“We had an embarrassment of riches last year,” Tapp admitted this offseason. “I mean, Ndamukong Suh is an All-Pro and a Hall of Famer, probably.
