The Lions have found their replacement for Curtis Modkins.
Head coach Jim Caldwell added former Indianapolis Colts running backs coach David Walker to his staff to fill the void left by Modkins’ departure to San Francisco to be their new offensive coordinator.
Walker coached running backs for the Colts from 2011-14. In 2011, he worked under Caldwell. He was out of the NFL last season.
The Lions finished last in the NFL in rushing this season, but they were markedly better the second half of the year when the Lions added run-game coordinating duties to Modkins’ responsibilities.
