The influence of the New England Patriots is continuing to move to Detroit.
The Lions hired Ron Miles as a scout after he served as a scouting assistant with the Patriots last season. He was with the Patriots for less than a year before the move, having been hired in February by Bill Belichick and his staff.
Before that, Miles was at Ohio State as a student assistant to the linebackers coach from 2009 until 2015. He graduated from Ohio State in 2012 with a bachelor's degree in journalism and then again from Ohio State in 2015 with a masters' degree in organizational leadership.
