The Detroit Lions have filled one of their coaching vacancies with the hiring of assistant offensive line coach Ryan Silverfield.
Detroit fired offensive coordinator Joe Lombardi and offensive line coaches Jeremiah Washburn and Terry Heffernan a few weeks ago.
They moved tight end coach Ron Prince over to offensive line, where he’s been coaching that unit by himself for the last three weeks, while Devin Fitzsimmons has been coaching the tight ends.
Silverfield comes over from Arizona State, where he was in his first season as a senior offensive analyst. He spent one year at Toledo in 2014 (as an offensive consultant) and six years before that with the Minnesota Vikings.
