FOXBOROUGH, Mass. -- The Detroit Lions have been granted permission to speak with New England Patriots director of pro scouting Bob Quinn for their vacant general manager's job, ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter reports.
Quinn, a native of Norwood, Mass., has worked for the Patriots the past 16 seasons, most recently as the team's director of pro scouting from 2012-present.
Prior to that, he was assistant director of pro scouting (2009-2011), national college scout (2008), regional scout (2004-2007), pro scout (2002-2003) and player personnel assistant (2000-2001).
Before joining the Patriots, Quinn was a graduate assistant within the University of Connecticut's athletic department (1998-99).
