ALLEN PARK -- Glover Quin's day began in the middle of the night, when his children woke him up eager to open Christmas presents.
At 4:45 a.m., he finally got them back in bed.
The Detroit Lions safety eventually arose around 6 or 6:30 a.m., went through Christmas festivities with his family -- and then it was off to an important day at work.
Quin, who has been out since suffering a concussion Monday night against New Orleans, was cleared to return to practice Friday. And that means he could be in position to play Sunday against the 49ers, and preserve his 98-game start streak.
