Matthew Stafford deserves plenty of credit for the Detroit Lions’ third straight come-from-behind victory Sunday against Washington.
Stafford drove the Lions 75 yards for the go-ahead score with 16 seconds to play. But if it weren’t for two fumbles forced by the defense earlier in the game, Stafford might not have been in position to lead his 24th career game-winning drive.
Washington drove deep into Lions territory on its second possession, only to have Matt Jones lose a fumble inside the 5-yard line.
Tavon Wilson recovered the loose ball -- after a moment when no one on either team seemed to realize it was free -- in the end zone for a touchback.
