DETROIT -- A rough night for the Detroit Lions on the field got even worse in the injury department, as the franchise saw star defensive end Ezekiel Ansah and the running back they signed in free agency, LeGarrette Blount, leave the team's season opener with injuries.
Ansah went to the locker room with 5:30 left in the second quarter of Monday night's game against the New York Jets, surrounded by trainers. It wasn't clear when he left the field what, exactly, was wrong with the defensive end. It was later announced he was questionable to return with a shoulder injury, although he was not spotted on the sideline at all in the second half.
