Allen Park – Detroit Lions defensive end Armonty Bryant has been suspended three games for violating the NFL’s substance abuse policy. The suspension stems from a 2015 arrest.
Bryant was a passenger when former teammate De'Ante Saunders was pulled over on Dec. 25, 2015 for speeding and suspicion of drunk driving. Byrant, who was on probation for a previous drug conviction, was charged with felony drug possession for Adderall and Oxycodone found in the vehicle.
In July, Bryant pleaded guilty to attempted drug possession, a first-degree misdemeanor. He was sentenced to probation, a suspended 180-day jail sentence and a $1,000 fine.
