ALLEN PARK, Mich. – Aaron Rodgers is one of the best quarterbacks in the NFL. He is a former MVP. He’s won Super Bowls. He’s one of the league’s top stars.
Detroit Lions defensive coordinator Teryl Austin took a more literal approach Thursday when he was asked what makes Rodgers, well, Rodgers.
“Mom and dad,” Austin said. “The mom and dad. They made Aaron Rodgers.”
Austin’s logic, literally, is extremely accurate. Rodgers’ parents – Darla and Ed – created Rodgers and gave birth to him on Dec. 2, 1983 – almost 32 years ago. They also nurtured him from a child into the adult he is now, one of the top quarterbacks in the NFL.
