After three-plus years with the Lions, wide receiver Ryan Broyles will look to make his mark in the NFL elsewhere.
The 2012 second-round pick tweeted a note expressing his gratitude to the organization for giving him an opportunity and indicated that he’d been cut Monday morning.
“Lions organization thank you for believing in me from the very beginning,” Broyles wrote before thanking several coaches and general manager Martin Mayhew. “I have enjoyed my time here. Although it is time for me to move on there will be a special place in my heart for these memories.”
While a brief injury limited him in training camp, Broyles received few opportunities this preseason, and most of them were with the third-string offense.
