ALLEN PARK -- The Detroit Lions continued their slow march to 53 players on Tuesday by cutting veteran offensive lineman Cyrus Kouandjio.
Detroit signed Kouandjio in the wake of the Taylor Decker injury over the summer and gave him a shot to win the starting left tackle job, but Greg Robinson has beaten him out. Robinson has taken almost all the first-team snaps over the last three weeks, and held up reasonably well in the preseason.
Kouandjio, on the other hand, has been up and down throughout camp and also battled some injury issues.
With Kouandjio out of the mix, Cornelius Lucas now looks like a lock to return as the Lions' top reserve offensive tackle.
