ALLEN PARK -- The Detroit Lions have cleared 11 players from their roster, leaving them three cuts shy of the 75-man limit that will be imposed by the NFL at 4 p.m. Tuesday.
Tight end Matthew Mulligan, long snapper Jimmy Landes and cornerback Crezdon Butler -- the hero of the win at Lambeau Field last year -- were among the notable players who are out.
Landes was placed on injured reserve, ending his season, with a shoulder injury that will require surgery according to the team. He apparently suffered the injury sometime during or after Detroit's loss in Baltimore on Saturday night.
