ALLEN PARK, Mich. -- The Detroit Lions were the worst team in the NFL in the first half of the 2015 season. Record-wise the Lions were one of the best in the second half.
The change can be explained many ways. Six games against playoff teams in the first half, compared to two in the second half. A change in offensive coordinator after seven weeks, and a front office shakeup at midseason. There was also less to play for after being blown out in London, with the playoffs almost certainly off the table.
But the way the team held together does lead to the question of, “What if?
