ORLANDO, Fla. -- Matt Patricia said his defense would be built from the inside-out. And the Lions' moves in free agency continue to reflect that.
Detroit announced Monday morning that Jonathan Freeny has signed with the club. That's the third linebacker they've signed in free agency, joining Devon Kennard and Christian Jones. And Nick Bellore also agreed to re-up for another year in Detroit.
Jarrad Davis is the starter in the middle, but the rest of the positions are up for grabs with Tahir Whitehead leaving for Oakland and Paul Worrilow still unsigned.
"Those are going to be the guys that you're kind of building around from there," Patricia said of the linebackers.
