Faced with serious depth issues at tight end, the Detroit Lions signed free agent Khari Lee on Tuesday.
Lee is originally an undrafted free agent in 2015 from Bowie State, a D-II school in Maryland. A former basketball player who added almost 50 pounds over his college career, Lee originally signed with the Houston Texans.
The Chicago Bears thought enough of Lee after seeing him in preseason action to trade for him. Chicago sent a 2017 sixth-round pick to Houston rather than risking another team claiming Lee.
The #Lions claimed TE Khari Lee off waivers.
