Allen Park — The Detroit Lions have a new running back.
A day after establishing the team's initial 53-man roster, the Lions claimed J.D. McKissic off waivers from the Seattle Seahawks on Sunday. To clear room on the roster, the team released tight end Logan Thomas.
Undrafted out of Arkansas State in 2016, McKissic spent his rookie year with the Atlanta Falcons before catching on with the Seahawks, where he's been the past two seasons.
Limited to five games due to a foot injury in 2018, McKissic played just nine offensive snaps.
