Lions claim OL Jamil Demby off waivers, release receiver

ALLEN PARK -- The Detroit Lions are wasting no time tweaking their roster after opening the season with a blowout loss against the New York Jets.

The club announced it has been awarded offensive lineman Jamil Demby off waivers, and cut loose Bradley Marquez in the corresponding move.

Demby was a sixth-round pick of the Rams in this year's draft. Listed at 6-foot-5 and 319 pounds, the former Maine star played left tackle in college but was moved to guard in Los Angeles. Detroit is set at both positions in the starting lineup, though guard T.J. Lang is dealing with a back injury on the inside.
