Since the injury to Kerry Hyder Jr. in the first week of the preseason, the Lions have been trying to manufacture a pass rush with what’s left of their defensive front.

On Wednesday, the Lions were awarded LB Kasim Edebali off of waivers from the Denver Broncos.

Edebali was an undrafted free agent out of Boston College when he signed a deal with the New Orleans Saints in 2014. In three seasons with the Saints, Edebali played in 48 games, recording 36 tackles and eight sacks. After New Orleans, Edebali spent the first nine games of the 2017 season with the Denver Broncos where he appeared in every game, but did not record much in the way of statistics—just one tackle according to Pro Football Reference.
