There may not be an NFL cornerback more familiar with the Buccaneers’ impressive duo of Mike Evans and Chris Godwin than current Detroit Lions cornerback Carlton Davis III. The Lions cornerback—acquired in a trade from the Bucs this offseason—spent the first six years of his career going up against those wide receivers every single day in practice.
This week, as he prepares to face his former team, Davis is doing everything he can to prepare his new teammates for the formidable task.
“He’s normally a quiet guy, but he gave the best introduction of those receivers that I’ve ever heard a DB talk ever in my coaching career, and that’s saying a lot,” defensive coordinator Aaron Glenn said on Thursday.
