ALLEN PARK -- Adairius Barnes shocked the world by making the Detroit Lions roster in 2016. Two years later, the experiment is over.
The Detroit Lions announced Thursday morning they have cut the young cornerback.
Barnes was a Cinderella story coming out of training camp in 2016. He was an undrafted rookie out of Louisiana Tech who didn't seem to do much throughout the offseason program. He was little more than a footnote throughout training camp. But then-first year GM Bob Quinn saw something in Barnes he really liked, and surprised a whole lot of people by keeping him.
