Lions cap 2015 season with 24-20 win at Bears

CHICAGO – Jim Caldwell won’t campaign to return for a third season as Detroit Lions coach, but he continues to build his case nonetheless.

Matthew Stafford threw for 298 yards and three touchdowns as the Lions beat the Chicago Bears at Soldier Field, 24-20, to close the season on a three-game winning streak.

After starting the year 1-7, the Lions won six of their final eight games to finish 7-9.

Caldwell and the front office now await decisions on their future as the Lions begin the process of hiring a new general manager.

The team can request interviews with candidates currently employed by other teams on Monday, and they’re expected to hold several interviews this week.
