ALLEN PARK -- The Lions took a day off from practice after Monday night's 48-17 home loss to the Jets. That part was usual. Then they came back Wednesday to conduct a walkthrough, which was not.
But they did get some evaluation of free agents collected in the process of moving on to play the 49ers on Sunday. Their former gunner, Don Carey, was in the building following the conclusion of practice. It's his second trip in as many weeks after the Jaguars placed him on injured reserve.
Detroit also worked out two punters in Ryan Santoso and Ryan Quigley, the Detroit Free Press reported.
