The Detroit Lions added a familiar face to their shorthanded secondary today, signing cornerback Bill Bentley.
Bentley played three seasons for the Lions and made eight starts but was waived this spring, as he was slow returning from a torn ACL.
The Lions have lost two of their top three cornerbacks to injuries in recent weeks. Rashean Mathis went on season-ending injured reserve with lingering effects from a concussion last week, and Josh Wilson suffered a right knee injury in Sunday's 18-16 win over the Green Bay Packers.
