DETROIT -- The Lions have struggled to find talent in the second round of the draft. Look no further than the 2018 opener for evidence of that.
The Lions won't even dress two of the last four players they took in the round, sitting running back Ameer Abdullah and defensive tackle A'Shawn Robinson for their game against the New York Jets on Monday Night Football.
Throw in Kyle Van Noy, who was traded to New England in 2016, and the Lions are opening the season without three of their last five second-round picks. That's kind of incredible.
