Lions believe 2 rocky seasons were ‘blessing in disguise’ for Jameson Williams

When the Detroit Lions drafted Jameson Williams in 2022, they knew it was going to be a slow start for the former Alabama wide receiver. With a torn ACL suffered just a few months before the draft, the Lions selected him knowing most of his rookie season would be spent on the sidelines.

What they probably didn’t foresee, though, is his second season starting with more turbulence. A training camp injury combined with a four-game gambling suspension set back his development further, and that was clear to see when he finally hit the field in October.
