The Detroit Lions are changing up their defensive line.
The franchise claimed linebacker/defensive end Armonty Bryant off waivers Tuesday after he was cut by Cleveland, and in doing so placed Wallace Gilberry, the team's No. 3 defensive end, on injured reserve with an abdominal injury.
The Browns released Bryant on Monday after he was reinstated from a four-game suspension to begin the 2016 season.
Bryant, 26, had been suspended for violating the NFL's policy on performance-enhancing drugs. He also is being investigated by the league for a misdemeanor drug conviction stemming from a Christmas Eve arrest where Adderall and Oxycodone were found in a car in which Bryant was a passenger.
