The Detroit Lions will once again play a game without their field general, quarterback Matthew Stafford, under center. The ten-year passer will miss his third straight game due to bone fractures in his back. That places backup quarterback Jeff Driskel as the starter against the 1-9 Washington Redskins on the road this Sunday.
Despite the Lions 3-6-1 record going into Week 12, Stafford has been adamant about returning to the field this season. The 31-year old quarterback hadn’t missed a start for Detroit since 2010 before this streak of three-missed contests occurred.
