The Detroit Lions and Amon-Ra St. Brown have reportedly agreed on a four-year, “more than” $120 million extension that makes the All Pro the highest-paid wide receiver in football. According to NFL Network, the deal comes with $77 million. The previous high for a receiver contract was Miami Dolphins Tyreek Hill’s four-year, $120 million—although Hill only had $72.2 million guaranteed.
It’s a well-deserved raise for St. Brown after the 24 year old spent three seasons on a cost-controlled rookie contract as a fourth-round pick. On that original contract, St. Brown earned just a $785,260 signing bonus, and didn’t have a base salary above $1 million in either of his first three seasons.
