ALLEN PARK -- First they came for his father. And then they came for him.
Akeem Spence said last week his father, Floyd, lost work because of his decision to kneel for the anthem before a Week 3 game against Atlanta. Now he says he's also been harassed by strangers leaving voicemails on his personal phone.
The Detroit Lions defensive tackle said he's been targeted by more than 10 calls from people angry with his decision to kneel in protest of Donald Trump and race relations. His father has also been harassed.
"It was just nonsense, man," Spence said.
