A day after the Detroit Lions dismissed two scouts from the Martin Mayhew era, new general manager Bob Quinn added a familiar face to the Lions’ personnel department.
The Lions hired former Kansas City Chiefs and New England Patriots scout Jay Muraco as a regional scout.
Muraco spent the past four years as an area scout with the Chiefs and before that spent nine seasons (2000-08) with the New England Patriots.
Quinn, who held an assortment of titles during his 16 seasons in New England, and Muraco joined the Patriots in the same year.
The Lions fired east coast scout Chad Henry and Midwest scout Darren Anderson on Monday, two days after the draft.
