The Detroit Lions made a flurry of roster moves on Saturday, many as a direct result of Thursday night’s game against the New England Patriots.
First, the good news. Trey Flowers has been activated from the Physically Unable to Perform list, meaning that he’s immediately eligible to return to practice. After going through offseason surgery this year, Flowers took his recover slow and steady, sitting out team drills during OTAs, minicamp and the first couple weeks of training camp. The star defensive end, who got a beefy five-year, $90 million contract from the Lions, is expected to help Detroit’s woeful pass rush from last year.
