Lions' Abdullah: I'm trying to regain trust

Ameer Abdullah said he was not told that he was being benched after his second fumble last weekend against the Arizona Cardinals, but the Detroit Lions running back said coach Jim Caldwell was right to do it.

"Coach made the call to sit me down, which probably was the right decision," Abdullah said. "The way the game was going, he probably felt like he couldn't trust me, so I'm just doing my best to regain his trust, as I know I can do."

Abdullah has been the Lions' best running back this year, rushing for a team-high 131 yards and scoring touchdowns both rushing and receiving.
