Lions 2016 draft grades: Quinn solid in 1st year

Four Free Press sports writers give their takes on the Lions’ draft performance:

Dave Birkett: B

The Lions, wisely, put a major emphasis on upgrading their offensive and defensive lines. But they didn’t get any immediate help at defensive end or safety.

Carlos Monarrez: B-minus

Safe, solid, foundation picks early had Lions general manager Bob Quinn bordering on an A, but a backup QB and a long-snapper felt like give-up picks at the end.

Jeff Seidel: B

It was a solid start for Quinn: Not flashy, but he addressed needs and didn’t do anything crazy early.
