Since being drafted by the Detroit Lions in the second round of the 2012 draft, Ryan Broyles has tried unsuccessfully to find a role on this team. They tried him at receiver in his rookie season playing in eight games with 3 starts but only managed 310 yards on 22 catches.
The Lions gave him a look as a starting punt returner in 2013 but only returned one kick for four years. In 2014 Broyles was only active for 5 games and grabbed just two receptions. His banishment to the inactive list with no explanation from the coaching staff has been a mystery for fans.
