The fears of the worst for Kerryon Johnson's knee have been subsided.
The Lions running back sprained his knee in Sunday's 20-19 victory over the Panthers at Ford Field, multiple outlets reported Monday. He is considered week-to-week going forward.
It's relatively strong news for the Lions after their rookie phenom jogged back through the tunnel in the fourth quarter of Sunday's game, and natural fears set in that he might have suffered an ACL injury. It would have been a major blow to the best season a Lions running back has had with Matthew Stafford. Johnson ranks ninth in the NFL with 621 rushing yards.
