ALLEN PARK -- Kerry Hyder hasn't seen much of the field this season, but he's been as active as ever off of it, and the Lions are rewarding him for those efforts.
Detroit has named Hyder this year's recipient of the Ed Block Courage Award. The honor goes to one player each year who exemplifies sportsmanship in addition to overcoming either injury or adversity to excel on the field.
Hyder hasn't gotten to do much on the field this year, as he's been active for only three of the six games, even with the shoulder injury to Ezekiel Ansah.
