The wife of Detroit Lions quarterback Matthew Stafford said Wednesday on Instagram that she's planning to undergo surgery for a recently diagnosed brain tumor.
Kelly Stafford wrote in a post that she experienced several bouts of vertigo beginning in January and that, at the recommendation of a Lions team doctor, had an MRI on her brain.
The test showed that she had an acoustic neuroma, or a benign tumor, resting on her cranial nerves.
"All I heard was brain tumor & that they had to do surgery to take it out," Kelly Stafford wrote. "So that is what we are going to do & we believe we found the best doctor to do it.
