Joseph Fauria, Kellen Moore among Lions' cuts

Allen Park — The Lions started making transactions Saturday morning with the 4 p.m. deadline for 53-man rosters quickly approaching.

Among the players waived were tight end Joseph Fauria, quarterback Kellen Moore and wide receiver Greg Salas. ESPN reported the cuts of Fauria, who became expendable after the Lions traded for tight end Tim Wright this week, and Moore.

Another notable cut was running back George Winn, who played a significant role on special teams. With the Lions waiving Winn, undrafted rookie Zach Zenner — who led the NFL with 183 rushing yards this offseason — should be on the 53-man roster.
