Jones, Johnson among 5 Lions missing practice

The Detroit Lions are giving Calvin Johnson more time to rest his sore ankle.

Johnson did not practice with the Lions today, three days after he led the team with six catches for 81 yards in a win over the Green Bay Packers.

Johnson was listed as questionable for that game, after spraining his ankle two weeks earlier in a loss to the Kansas City Chiefs. He is expected to play Sunday against the Oakland Raiders (1 p.m., CBS), but the Lions (2-7) are managing his workload during the week.

Defensive end Jason Jones, defensive tackle Gabe Wright, cornerback Nevin Lawson and safety Don Carey also did not practice for the Lions.
