GREEN BAY, Wis. -- They came out slow. They appeared to be lacking focus. And after it was all over, Detroit Lions coach Jim Caldwell took all of the blame for how his team was prepared against the Green Bay Packers on Sunday.
He said, simply, it's on him and his staff.
“It's all coaching, if you ask me,” Caldwell said. “If you have been around me long enough, you know we don't ever back away from that. I mean, every single bit of it. We're responsible. So yeah, absolutely.”
And there were enough failings and responsibility issues to go around, particularly in the first half when the Lions played poorly, particularly on defense.
