ALLEN PARK, Mich. -- Jim Caldwell has always believed in providence and the divine nature of things and last week, one of his friends, Alan Harvith, told him that he believed change was coming.
Why? It was the start of a new year in the Jewish calendar, the celebration of the first High Holiday of the year, Rosh Hashanah.
The Detroit Lions had lost to Chicago, 17-14, hours before the start of Rosh Hashanah last Sunday to drop to 1-3. It was Detroit’s worst performance of the season. The Lions changed up their practice schedule during the week and Caldwell said the team had their best Wednesday practice of the season.
