Jim Caldwell hasn't discussed his future with new Lions prez Rod Wood

ALLEN PARK, Mich. -- Detroit Lions coach Jim Caldwell said he has never wanted personnel control as a head coach because he has his “hands full” trying to coach a team.

He was asked this Friday as the Lions begin their search for a general manager after hiring team president Rod Wood on Thursday.

“Never. I’ve got my hands full doing what I do, and love doing what I do,” Caldwell said. “Not many times where you get a chance to do what you love to do for a great majority of your career like I have for 39 years.
