CHICAGO – Detroit Lions coach Jim Caldwell is planning a business-as-usual approach in the offseason until he is told otherwise.
The second-year Lions coach is on the hot seat after the Lions dropped from 11-5 in his first season to 7-9 in his second, a season that included the dismissal of team president Tom Lewand and general manager Martin Mayhew. Lewand’s replacement with the Lions, Rod Wood, has repeatedly said the team’s new general manager will decide the future of Caldwell.
So all the 60-year-old coach can do is wait, as he doesn’t know when he’ll get an answer.
